The Gifts Of Imperfection Online Workshop

“Let go of who you think you are supposed to be and embrace who you are” – Brene Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection

You’ve always been resilient and driven…

You have an idea of how things should be. You have worked hard, really hard to make things happen.

You’ve sacrificed a lot, years of school or training or just paying your dues, so you can make the positive impact in the world you feel called to make.

You’ve always made it through, somehow, sometimes by the skin of your teeth.

But you’ve always paid a price… the expense slowly chipping away at your sense of self.

You look at your life and the way things are, you look at how hard you have worked and then you think of how things should be and what you’ve worked so hard for… And you feel an unsettled, gnawing feeling of dissatisfaction at the gap you see.

Where you are versus where you want to be…

Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

Then the racial reckonings…

Then the floodings, fires and other natural disasters… Deaths, so many deaths… Everything closed, alienated and isolated from many you love.

The onslaught continued… Wave after wave…

You jumped right into doing what you could, the best way you knew how.

Everyone else seemed to be on it, posting their latest projects on social media… everyone else looked perfect… Or as least ahead of you in some way… You come up for air only to be swept under by another wave…

You cycle between exhaustion, anxiety, grief, being hard on yourself, busywork and productivity as self-worth, feeling stuck, having a sense of foreboding, feeling like you could never get on top of the never-ending to do list, scarcity, numbing with food, shopping etc and escaping through netflix, filled with self-doubt all while serving, leading or taking care of everyone else…

And now, nearly 7 months into the pandemic, you feel wiped out.

Running on a treadmill to nowhere, you are starting to feel a sense of futility…

Or, maybe you’ve been hanging there, hoping that if you hold on long enough, things will eventually pan out and get back to normal…

And now, you are starting to realize, normal is never coming back. You will need to create the life you want.

To do so, you will have to let go of what is no longer serving you.

What do you need to let go of?

What would it feel like to embrace who you are and where you are, instead of where you are supposed to be or how things are supposed to be?

What would it feel like to embrace your humanity, abundance and the gifts imperfection brings? To be able to focus on your priorities and let go of all the “supposed to”s?

What would it feel like to laugh heartily, dance with abandon or play freely with those you love?
